A few weeks ago our friends at Clearport Events invited us to an event for Jersey Fashion Week, the JCFW Catwalk in the Park. The event was held in the incredibly beautiful and historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal in Liberty State Park. The event featured designers Noreen Frances, Sonia Booker, Moaqua Phillips, Dominicci, Lorraine Muriello, Ange Tedego, Jean Fredeling, Swim by Lee and Benard Moore. The walk covered a wide range of styles and ideas. Bursts of colors and creativity adorned the stage all night long. Throughout the night there was also musical appearances by Clayton Bryant & The Union, Miss Nana and Nikki Lou.
Although this was my only JCFW event, I was impressed to see the immense talent and vision this side of the Hudson has and the pride Jersey brings to the table. This is all part of the movement to make Jersey City a creative destination no longer sitting in New York City’s shadows.
