Recently I linked up for a killer afternoon of lurking, shooting, smoking and what not. I set up some time to combine all sorts of nonsense and this right here is Part 1 of what happened on that beautiful NYC Saturday.
After chugging a Gatorade morning after King Holiday, a good stretch and warm shower, the adventure was back on. I reached out to the man, the legend, Derti the Ripper; to meet up with him on his roof of choice. I also reached out to Kunai Visuals art director Anzo, to confirm the details of an interview with Queens MC, Tokunbo. Things were happening.
First spot was the SoHo Blick Arts Store to catch Derti at their hat painting competition. After browsing the talent, we headed to the Clouder mecca. A couple beers and a couple bagels we started getting into a vibe. I discussed with Anzo, Mikki and Tokunbo the philosphy behind EYESTAYGOLD Records, which I will save for the interview article- STAY TUNED.
After a quick interview we politiced for awhile, while Derti painted a special ninja Clouder for the ages. As the the sun set and the October brisk hit us, we retreated to the streets and into the car to hit a roof party Tokunbo was set to play in Booklyn. After an eventful cruise out to East Williamsburg we arrived at a place with no address, a beautiful graffiti heaven warehouse. We ended up being a bit early so we explored the halls and added some fresh new Clouders to the world.
Till next time, keep good people around you and vibe heavy.
