This weekend I headed down I-95 to spend some time in Philadelphia for the world-famous pop-up Pancake & Booze Art Show. The concept is simple- free pancakes, plenty of bars and a collection of some of the cities best up and coming artists. The show has appeared in over 30 cities since 2009.
This installment featured over 75 artists from around the city, DJ’s and of course pancakes & booze. The two large rooms of the Underground flowed with people dancing, networking, making new friends, embracing old ones, getting drawn as caricatures, buying art and enjoying the vibe. There was pop-star llamas, live painting, street photographers, body painting and more. The night was an excellent way to connect people from all walks of life. Whatever your interests were, there was something there for you. For artists this is an excellent opportunity to meet collectors, network with the community and to reach new audiences. As a spectator this is the perfect place for a different kind of night out, to find a new artist, to pick up a great new piece or find that perfect gift.
ThePancake & Booze Art Show is constantly on the move attracting amazing artists to top venues around the country. You can find the next show near you on their website, here. The show will be in New York City on April 5th at the M1-5 Lounge. Be sure to follow their Instagram to keep an eye on their movement.
