Earlier this month a lot of soul and love filled the Lower East Side’s Mercury Lounge. The intimate venue filled with funky souls gathered for a genuine good time. Everything kicked off with Leo Manzari– he flexed with his band combining his many talents- singing, rapping and tap dancing. Tacuma Bradley snowballed the vibes with the help of the Unity Band.
The night moved into our guests from Philadelphia, Hardwork Movement. This season, I’ve been lucky enough to catch the HW crew twice this holiday season (check out pics from the Hardwork MCs at Underground Arts). Each show I’ve seen gets better and better as the band shines collectively. The MC’s are elevated by the experience of a live band and the experience is an exciting party that stirs the crowd into a frenzy. Catching these guys in an intimate setting is the ultimate gift and with a crowd brought together with all these amazing artists, this was a special one.
After Hardwork Movement, Lady Moon & the Eclipse took the stage and cleansed our sonic souls with their melodies. Every experience with them can only be described as an out-of-body vibration. The beautiful outfits, choreography, songs and band chemistry set this band on another level. A must see in live music experience.
This night was so uplifting and beautiful, an evening for the ages that wiped away the negative energy of the holiday season. Be sure to support and put these amazing artists on a radar to catch in 2018.
